Once again, it’s time to start thinking about those spring career development events! With that comes a reminder that Little International is quickly approaching. The 90th Little International will be held on the campus of South Dakota State University March 22-23, 2013.
Little International is a two-day agricultural exposition planned, organized, and implemented by students at South Dakota State University for the benefit of high school youth and collegiate students. Little International is considered the largest two-day agricultural exposition in the country and provides high school students with an opportunity to compete to win prizes and scholarships.
At the 90th Little International, youth will have a chance to be a part of Decades of Excellence through contests or participating in university tours organized by the College of Agriculture and Biological Sciences Ambassadors.
With so much to do at Little “I”, don’t forget to take time to enjoy watching the excellent livestock shows on Friday and Saturday night where top SDSU Students in each species will compete for the overall showman title.
The 90th Little International staff has been busy preparing fun and exciting events for the youth and they look forward to you taking part in the Decades of Excellence.
There is sure to be something for everyone with contests in:
- Dairy cattle
- Dairy products,
- Farm business management
- Natural resources
- Nursery landscape
Information about scholarship opportunities for seniors competing at this year's Little International is also available on the Little International website.
The following scholarships are set to be awarded:
- One (1) $500 winner
- Two (2) $250 finalists
Registration forms for tours and contests can be accessed by visiting the Little International website. Registration for the Little International contest is due March 16th.
