National speaker, John Beede will present during the 4-H Teen Leadership Conference in Brookings June 4 at the campus of South Dakota State University. Teens ages 13 to 18 can register for this event and the opportunity to hear John Beede present.

About John Beede

Adventurer, John Beede is also a professional speaker and author. Beede has been struck by lightning, attacked by a 5-foot iguana, swam with a whale shark, nearly fell 300-feet to his death, and once did the hokey-pokey in the eye of a hurricane.

“His adventure stories have earned him the nickname, "The Climber Guy," and he's going to help you "Climb On!" to your highest personal leadership potential,” said Audrey Rider, SDSU Extension 4-H/Youth Development Leadership Field Specialist.

Beede is an exciting and humorous speaker. “Youth can expect to not only experience all of these things, but they should laugh themselves to tears. Past audience members have literally fallen out of their chairs laughing,” Rider said.

The success and leadership strategies teens will learn at Beede’s talk are based on his highly acclaimed book, “Climb On! Success Strategies for Teens.” Since graduating from Wheaton College, IL with a bachelor's degree in communications, he has become the owner of two companies, John Beede International and Sierra Nevada Publishing House. He has also been an instructor of rock climbing, white-water rafting, wilderness survival, sailing, mountaineering, and has participated in dozens of expeditions and adventures around the world. In his talk, John's integration of his outdoor adventure stories and his powerful success strategies will catapult you to a new level of personal achievement.
