Greetings From 4-H Camp Bob Marshall Teen Camp!

We are excited to have you joining us at the 4-H Camp Bob Marshall Teen Camp this summer! Here is your one stop shop for Camp Bob Marshall Teen Camp information. Please read over the following information so that you know what’s going on.

Camp Overview

Teen Camp Bob “Space is the Place” will be a great time of learning how to be our next generation of leaders. During camp, we will learn about space exploration, STEM, and personal growth. A variety of activities will include camping experience. All campers will go on an off-camp adventure, will “rocket” during a dance, and enjoy the camp; canoeing, fishing, swimming, campfires, s’mores and songs.

What parents should know:

  • Age & Attendance
    4-H camp is open to all youth ages 13-18 by camp deadline. You do not have to be a 4-H member to attend. Invite a friend!
  • Food Allergies
    This camp is NOT a nut free camp due to ingredients used and camp store. Food allergies need to be called in by June 1 to the Head Cook.
  • Chaperones
    Every county must provide one chaperone for every 12 kids of each gender attending camp. Camp Registration forms will not be accepted without adequate supervision lined up! Chaperones must have the 4-H State Volunteer form on file with the State 4-H Office before attending camp.
  • Talent Show
    A talent/variety show will be held. Please bring what you need to share your talent with the camp.
  • Camp Store
    The camp store will be open daily for campers to buy snacks and camp souvenirs.
  • Conduct
    Please note, The South Dakota 4-H Code of Conduct is enforced at all 4-H Camp functions.

Packing

Please label your personal belongings! It helps to identify items in the lost and found and get them returned to you in case they are forgotten!

Camper Packing List

  • Warm & Cool Clothing
  • Shorts/jeans/t-shirts/sweatshirts
  • Jacket
  • 2 pairs of closed toe shoes (tennis shoes preferred)
  • Rain Coat/ Umbrella
  • Insect Repellant (non- aerosol) & Sunscreen
  • Bedroll or sleeping bag & pillow
  • Bathroom Items
  • Towel
  • Flashlight
  • Swim wear & Sandals for beach
  • Water bottle

Do Not Bring

  • Snacks of any kind from home. This includes your own pop. Snacks and food in the cabins only attract pesky animals.
  • Valuables: cell phones, music devices, jewelry, excessive amounts of money, etc. Neither SDSU or the WDCA will be held accountable for these items
  • Aerosol items are not allowed: This includes perfume, cologne, hairspray, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, etc.

Arrival & Departure

  • Arrival Time
    Please plan your arrival for no earlier than 2:00 p.m. (MST) on the first day of camp.
  • Departure Time
    Departure is no earlier than 10:30 a.m. (MST) and no later than 11:30 a.m. on the last day of camp. An adult from each county needs to stay until all campers have left camp!
