We are very pleased to announce the 2012 Black Hills Stock Show Youth Day will be held at the Pennington County 4-H & Extension Building (Walter Taylor Building) 601 E Centre Street and the Central States Fairgrounds – Rapid City, SD.  This will be a great opportunity for youth to compete, gain knowledge, and meet other youth with similar interests while having fun!   The event will be held on the second weekend of the Black Hills Stock Show.  Take this opportunity to bring the kids and enjoy the Black Hills Stock Show at the same time.

All Youth (non 4-H and 4-H) are invited to enter Youth Day activities.  Age requirements for the Beef Cook-Off, Livestock Judging, Livestockology, Horse Quiz Bowl, Hippology and Dog Show must be at least 8 years of age by January 1, 2012 and must not have turned 19 by January 1, 2012.  Individuals may enter a maximum of two events for scheduling purposes. 

Awards will be presented at the conclusion of each individual event in the area the event was held.  Judging awards will be available at the Black Hills Stock Show Office at the Civic Center late Saturday afternoon.

Entry blanks must be received or postmarked on or before January 10, 2012.  Please mail entries to the respective contest officials for each of the events.
