May 31, 2016 Update: The 91st South Dakota Legislative Session allocated $50,000 to SDSU Extension’s 4-H Youth Development program to assist with reducing or eliminating exhibit registration fees in 2016. State 4-H exhibit registration fees will be waived at the S.D. State Fair and State 4-H Dog Show. Fees will be reduced at the State 4-H Horse Show. Exhibit registration fees are only one component of a 4-H member’s participation costs; some usage or supply fees from other organizations or facilities remain.

Dawnn Taylor
North Ring

Dawnn Taylor currently resides in Fort Frances, Ontario, Canada, with her husband Donald and son Donovan. Raised in Wisconsin, Taylor participated in all disciplines of Quarter Horse, showing and representing the state of Wisconsin at the Quarter Horse Congress on their youth team for five consecutive years. Dawnn holds cards for APHA, NSBA, IBHA, ABRA, POA, WSCA as well as 4-H. She has trained and ridden horses at their breed association championships and numerous ROMs.

David J. Denniston
South Ring

Dr. David Denniston of Fort Collins, Colorado attended Colorado State University. He is currently an Associate Professor and Director of the Legends of Ranching Program at Colorado State University. Dr. Denniston grew up showing and training horses and now owns and breeds both Paint and Quarter horses. Dr. Denniston has been involved in the horse industry for 25 years and judging for 13. He has judged major shows such as the APHA World Show, AJPHA World Show, AQHA Congress, NSBA World Show, and European Championships. Dr. Denniston enjoys seeing horses and exhibitors at their best.
