Do you hold an officer position on youth council? If yes, what position? Yes, Vice President

How many years have you been on youth council? 2 years

Why did you decide to join youth council?

I wanted to join youth council because I attended Teen Leadership Conference (TLC) and had so much fun that I decided I wanted to be a part of the planning that went into such a great week. I also wanted to help promote 4-H on a statewide level.

What is something you are looking forward to with youth council this year?

One thing I am looking forward to this year is TLC. It is so much fun to meet new people and see old friends from past years. We have a great theme picked out for this year, so I am excited to see what kind of activities we can come up with.

What is your favorite 4-H project area? Why?

My favorite 4-H project is public presentations. I love getting to talk in front of people and to share my ideas. Public speaking in 4-H has also given me a lot of confidence, which has helped me to make some amazing friends.

Why should 4-H members join youth council?

4-H members should join youth council because it is a great way to learn teamwork skills and it is so much fun. Everyone on youth council carries a different personality and when all those personalities of people who want to make an impact come together, it is truly an awesome experience. If you are considering joining youth council, but aren’t sure you would fit in, or don’t know if you would like it, please just apply or come to TLC. We love gaining new members and would love to meet you.
