How many years have you been on youth council?

This is my second year on the Youth Council.

Why did you decide to join youth council?

When I went to my first Teen Leadership Conference (TLC), I was blown away by how this amazing group of people planned and executed a week long camp for teens. After that, I immediately knew that I needed to be a part of this team full of amazing people that have the ability to change someone’s life.

What is something you are looking forward to with youth council this year?

I’m looking forward to seeing all our hard work pay off in the end. We put a lot of time and effort into TLC and seeing everything come together is always a rewarding experience. In addition, growing more as a council is something I’m looking forward to.

What is your favorite 4-H project area? Why?

My favorite project area would have to be sheep, even though I have just recently picked up this project, I’m loving it so far. I’ve learned responsibility and hard work through chores and preparing for shows. I’ve loved learning everything that I need to know for shows even when I still have more to learn.

Why should 4-H members join youth council?

Being on Youth Council has given me so many advantages when applying for awards, trips, and more. I have met an amazing group of friends while being on Youth Council that have helped me in countless situations. As a youth council member, you get so close with your fellow council mates that you become almost like a family. While being on youth council your voice will always be heard. I wouldn’t trade anything for my experience on youth council.
