The Foundation for Life Essay contest is an easy and effective way to enhance your school’s character efforts. The contest is to inspire young people to reflect upon, express and commit to profound and enduring truths that will guide them to make ethical choices throughout their lives.

The contest is organized for students in the 4th, 7th, and 9th grades.  First place winners in all age categories will receive $300.  Deadline for entries is January 31, 2012.

The South Dakota 4-H CHARACTER COUNTS! Staff is looking forward to receiving your entries for the contest.  Download the South Dakota Foundations for Life Official Packet.  Within the Official Packet you will find the materials necessary to have your 4th, 7th and 9th grade students enter the contest.

The winning essays from your local competition will advance to the statewide competition.
