Small Grain Crop Performance Tours

SDSU Extension will be hosting a tour of the Small Grain Crop Performance Trials (CPT) located near Ideal, S.D. The tour is set for June 19th at 5:00pm. This event is free and open to public.

Attendees will have the opportunity to view winter wheat, oats and bio oilseed varieties and see how they perform in the field. Winter wheat and oat breeders will be present to discuss the varieties and answer questions. A meal will follow the tour The meal is sponsored by Country Pride Coop, Winner Seed, Cone Ag and Jorgensen Land and Cattle.

Directions to CPT Plots:

  • From SD Hwy 183:
    Turn east on 266th St and go 7 miles to 313th Ave, turn left and go 1/2-mile north. Plot is on the right just north of small grain bins.
  • From Winner:
    Go north at Lil Feller for 8.7 miles to dead end on 269th St., turn left or west 2.5 miles, go around curve to the right, go 3.5 miles.
  • From Highway 49:
    Go 11 miles east on 266th St., turn right on 313th, go 1/2 mile. Plot is on the west side of the road.
