Wagner Area Growth Sponsors Small Business Beginnings Back »

Eleven of the fourteen recipients registered for the class posed for a picture after learning about Financial Statements during Session 4.

Small Business Beginnings

Aspiring and current business owners in the Wagner and Lake Andes area recently participated in Small Business Beginnings, a series of five business classes offered by SDSU Extension Community Vitality an organized by Wagner Area Growth.

During these classes, participants planned for success in business by having the opportunity to write or update their business plans, participate in “board” meetings, and learn from a variety of speakers that covered everything from business structure to taxes and licensing to financial statements and finance options. Each week, an entrepreneur from another part of the state was “spotlighted” and introduced to the class. Participants also networked with other entrepreneurs throughout the class.

The recipient of the Business Plan Prizes were: Alicia Esplund, Konspiracy Cosplay Custom Costuming, and Chad and Lisa Peters, Crosby Jaeger Funeral Homes.
