SDSU Extension will host a four-part class focused on financial risk management on April 16, April 30, May 7 and May 21 from 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM CDT at the SDSU Extension Watertown Regional Center (1910 West Kemp Ave., Watertown, SD 57201).
Know Your Numbers, Know Your Options is an Annie's Project level 2 course targeting farm and ranch women giving them the ability to evaluate their farm and ranch operations in a period of lower revenues.
Women will gain the knowledge and experience to be able to examine their own balance sheet, income statements and cash flows for comparing their own numbers to help make rational decisions about declining incomes and tight cash flows, as well as, examine different leasing options to make informed decisions about land use. The different topics covered in this program are:
- Basics of balance sheet construction and analysis
- Cash flow and keeping farm/ranch financial records
- Income statements measuring profitability
- Evaluating/adjusting Leases
