SDSU Extension will host a series of Rain Garden workshops for home owners or anyone interested in stormwater runoff, low impact development, or sustainable water management in April at 3 locations.

  • April 4, 2018, Cow-Calf Education and Research Facility, 2901 Western Avenue, Brookings, SD 57006
  • April 17, 2018, SDSU Extension Sioux Falls Regional Center, 2001 E. Eighth St., Sioux Falls, SD 57103
  • April 24, 2018, SDUS Extension Watertown Regional Center, 1910 W. Kemp Ave., Watertown, SD 57201

Participants will go through how to design and construct a rain garden. The morning part of the workshop will include information about stormwater runoff, low impact development, and rain garden design. In the afternoon portion of the workshop, participants will break into teams and use the concepts learned that morning to develop their own design for an actual site in Sioux Falls. After the workshops, a final design will be developed and the rain garden will be built.
