The Minnehaha County Master Gardener Club will host the Annual Master Gardener Update Conference on Sept. 28 - 30 at the SDSU Extension Sioux Falls Regional Center (2001 East 8th Street, Sioux Falls, SD) and at other locations.

Keynote speaker: Mary Holm “Rooted in Holiday Traditions”

Panel discussion: “The Root of the Problem in 2018, including Dr. David Graper, Tom Holm, Margaret Murphy and others.

Master Gardeners are invited to participate in the photography exhibits.

This year’s photo contest themes are:

  • The Good, the Bad & the Ugly – discovering insects in the garden
  • Water Drops – viewing the garden through the unique lens of water droplets
  • Fruit & Seed Pods Through the Year
  • Our Garden Roots – New Category – Anything goes, use your creativity!

Silent Auction 

All master gardener groups are encouraged to donate items for the silent auction being hosted at the Update. Silent auction proceeds go to the SDMG Endowment Fund. Items can be dropped off at the Sioux Falls Regional Extension office (2001 E. 8th Street, Sioux Falls) during registration times on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.

The first 25 registrants will have their names included in a special door prize drawing. Note the price for the Saturday sessions will be increased from $55 to $70 after Monday, September 10. We welcome all registrants, but after September 10th, there is no guarantee for Saturday banquet placement.

During the online registration process, you will choose which parts of the conference you want to attend. You will also indicate your preference for break-out sessions so that we can adequately plan seating for each session.
