SDSU Extension and SD 4-H will host a livestock expo and show on June 8-9 at the Brown County Fair Grounds (400 24th Ave. NW, Aberdeen, SD 57401).
Youth for the Quality Care of Animals Training
There will be Youth for the Quality are of Animals Training on June 8 at 1 PM CDT Youth participating in the South Dakota 4-H swine project must complete this training once in the 4-H year to be eligible to show at the South Dakota State Fair.
Junior Point Show Rules and Regulations
Check-Ins and Weigh-Ins
All animals need to be checked-in and weighed-in by one of the two time lines to be entered in the show:
- Friday, June 8: 1 to 3 PM CDT Beef, Goat, Sheep, Swine
- Saturday, June 9: 7 to 8 AM CDT Beef, Swine
Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI)
All animals including: beef, sheep, swine and meat goat must be accompanied by a CVI and shall have official identification listed on the CVI. Animals must be inspected and CVI's must be issued, both within 30 days of exhibition.
To be eligible for all Purebred or Registered Market or Breeding Shows (Beef, Breeding Sheep, and Swine), exhibitors are required to deliver a copy of the registration papers (in their name, farm name, family name, or sibling name) If the animal is leased, exhibitor will need to bring lease agreement and the registration papers of person the animal is leased from.
The Triple Threat Livestock Expo and Northern Plains Livestock Show will follow the rules and guidelines of the South Dakota Junior Point Show Association.
