The National Air Emissions Monitoring Study was a producer-driven study to assess emissions from modern U.S. livestock operations and compile a database for estimation of emission rates. The study included swine, dairy, broiler and layer chicken housing and manure storage areas. The study was led by Purdue University, with involvement by nine other institutions, including Dr. Erin Cortus at South Dakota State University. The gas and dust emissions from five swine facilities across the United States were monitored for two years. Selected results and their significance are presented in the following webcasts:
