The 24th annual South Dakota State University “Lamb Bonanza” starts at 3:30 p.m. CST on February 27th at the campus Frost Arena.
The event showcases SDSU’s support of lamb and wool production in South Dakota and it is held in conjunction with the SDSU men’s basketball game.
The South Dakota Sheep Growers’ Association will serve leg of lamb sandwiches and lamb spread starting at 3:30 p.m. on the north side of the track at the arena.
The SDSU men face Oral Roberts, with the game starting at 4:30 p.m.
During halftime, six lamb pelts will be auctioned. Four pelts are decorated with “SDSU” and two of the pelts feature the Jackrabbit emblem. Proceeds from the sales will provide scholarships to undergraduates in the SDSU department of animal science and the SDSU athletic department.
The SDSU departments of athletics and animal science, along with the South Dakota Sheep Growers’ Association are sponsoring the 2016 Lamb Bonanza.
